How to connect to network storage and access other system files and folders
How to access files inside the same network
Why do we need to share files?
When there are two computers nearby and we need to share some large files, the old way for this was coping all the files in an external disc like pendrive and again coping it from it to other system this takes double the time from the systems and requires an external disk too. What would you do if you need to transfer more files and more date from many different systems. So to this all companies use a method by running a seperate computer to store all the data and files and whoever needs it they can copy it from that pc using network. But here we are not using a dedicated pc for a storage we are just using a method of sharing the files between them.
Steps to how to enable it:
First go to network and sharing center and click advanced sharing center as shown in the image.
Then go to the properties of that folder you want to access around the network and go to sharing in the properties and click share :
This will open a dialogue select the dropdown menu and select every and then click add to add that user to sharing and click share to start sharing to that user. Then the file is shared from your pc now go to the other pc and turn on network file and printer sharing to access the files from this pc.
Then you need to connect both the pc's to the same network to access the files.
To access the files you can go to the network section in the pc and you can see the name of the computer there that is sharing files and you can access the files from it.
